Mamma's Pizza has been a fixture of the Grassmarket for as long as anyone cares to remember. The exact number of years is 25 actually, during which time it has built up a fine reputation for warmly welcoming the city’s many tourists. The restaurant also attracts its fair share of locals, presumably on account of the diner’s accomplished Italian-American food. Mamma's Pizza couldn’t be so-named if its pizzas weren’t up to scratch. Thankfully, they’re a lot better than that, with crispy thin bases prepared by hand before being lightly cooked in Mammas’ pizza oven. Although classic Italian toppings are available, there’s also a lot more, with diners able to request pretty much anything that lends itself to being cooked atop a pizza base. Pizzas aside, the menu also features a selection of classic American offerings, with plenty of cheese and chilli-filled dishes to choose from. Not surprisingly, Mammas’ pizzas are also in demand for local customers who would prefer to takeaway and eat at home.

Best Gluten-free pizza in Edinburgh. Excellent service, does take out too. Light fluffy base with crunchy crust - far superior to alternatives from Pizza Express, Pizza Hut, Domino's or La Favorita.
